Monroe Co. authorities investigate missing U.S. Mail drop box

Drop box outside of Warrens Post Office unbolted, removed over weekend

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing U.S. Mail drop box that disappeared sometime over the weekend.

According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, the mailbox outside of the Warrens Post Office was unbolted and removed sometime between 1 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. Monday. They’re asking anyone who put mail in the drop box over the weekend to call them with the date and time they dropped it off.

Authorities say anyone who mailed out items using the missing mailbox before its disappearance should also call the post office and monitor their bank accounts for suspicious activity in case personal and financial information was stolen.

Anyone who has information on the disappearance of the drop box is being asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 608-269-2117.
