Money raised from ‘Run from the Cops’ event helps two non-profits

Two local non profits get a financial boost thanks to people running from the cops.

The annual run raised $4,400. $1,400 of that goes to Santa’s List, an organization that brings Christmas to kids who otherwise wouldn’t be able to celebrate it.

The other $3,000 is for the Coulee Region Children’s Internet Task Force. It’s a joint effort by local law enforcement to make the online world safe for our kids.

And this money helps with an immediate need. “This is something that we really needed, we have a piece of hardware that we need to upgrade our software for and we’ve been really waiting for something like this,” said Onalaska Asst. Police Chief Troy Miller.

Since the run began, it has raised about $18,000.
