Missing Trempealeau County man dies in vehicle crash
Darren Jahr found early Monday morning
ETTRICK, Wis. (WKBT) — The 39-year-old Trempealeau County man who was reported missing on Sunday was found dead in a crashed car early Monday morning.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department was called to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 53 near the intersection of Dubbert Rd. in the Town of Lincoln at about 2:30 a.m. Monday.
The Sheriff’s Department said the vehicle left the roadway, struck a bridge embankment and rolled over. Darren P. Jahr, of Blair, was dead when emergency crews arrived.
Jahr had been reported missing to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday morning. The Blair Fire Department said crews had been searching for Jahr since 11 a.m. on Sunday by both foot and helicopter. He was last seen in Beaches Corner, rural Ettick in the morning hours of March 8 and had not been located after an all-day search on Sunday. The Sheriff’s Department canceled the missing persons alert Monday morning.
