Missing Crawford County teen returns home safe
Family said girl went for run and didn't arrive at destination
CRAWFORD COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) — A reported missing 16-year-old from Bridgeport Township in Crawford County returned home safe early Tuesday morning.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office said the teen had gone out for a run at about 4 p.m. Monday and did not arrive at her destination. The family also reported that they saw a suspicious vehicle near their farm earlier in the day.
As the investigation began, the Sheriff’s Office activated the “Code Red” alert system and sent out an “Amber Alert.” At about 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the girl safely returned home on foot.
“We are all so happy that the girl returned home safely,” said Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick. “I also want to personally thank all the family, friends, and volunteers that helped in the search throughout the night.”
The Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation to provide a clearer picture of the events that led to her disappearance and return.
