Miss Wisconsin 2018 ends her reign and prepares to pass her crown
New's 8 sits down with Miss Wisconsin 2018
LA CROSSE, Wisc. (WKBT) — Miss Wisconsin 2018 is winding down her reign, and getting ready to pass on her crown.
Tianna Vanderhei says she spent a lot of the last year representing the state at different events, and volunteering.
She’s a graduate of UW-La Crosse, and a native of Wisconsin Rapids.
Tianna’s journey to the state title spanned eight years with eleven local competitions and six state competitions. She says she’s excited about some changes being made for this year’s Miss Wisconsin competition.
“We will have no swimsuit at state next week,” says Tianna “and that is unique in the fact that since it began in 1921 it’s been a bathing beauty contest. We’re taking that out, and we’re really highlighting what we’ve all known which is the fact that we’re educated, we’re poised, we’re accomplished, and we’re well-spoken.”
Tianna’s platform was “B.O.S.S”, which stands for Building Our Soft Skills, Strengthening Our Future.” It focuses on the development of soft skills to help people with their education and career goals.
This year’s Miss Wisconsin competition will take place in Oshkosh from June 12-15.
