Minnesota man arrested after high-speed chase in Jackson County
BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WKBT) — A Minnesota man was arrested Monday after a chase with police that reached 104 mph in Jackson County.
Authorities say Kyle L. Flanagan, 25, Isanti, Minn., fled from the Wisconsin State Patrol at about 9:30 p.m. Monday on I-94 near the village of Hixton. The state patrol gave Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies a description of the vehicle and said it was last seen near N. Pole Grove Road and Hwy. 95.
Deputies located the vehicle near N. Pole Grove Road and Hwy. 121 and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Rather than stop, Flanagan again fled, reaching speeds of up to 104 mph. The pursuit when through Alma Center and Merrillan before deputies were able to deploy a tire deflation device and stop the car, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle continued into Clark County, where Flanagan lost control and drove the vehicle into a ditch. He then tried to run, but was stopped by deputies, according to authorities.
Flanagan first gave police a fake name, but was then correctly identified. Deputies say he had several active warrants out of Ramsey County and the vehicle he was driving was stolen from Waunakee, Wis.
Flagan was arrested on charges of knowingly fleeing an office, operating a vehicle without owner’s consent, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing an officer.
