Minnesota congressional candidate helps answer questions from kids about the coronavirus

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (WKBT) – Kids are curious about COVID-19, but it can be hard to explain.

So one Minnesota Congressional Candidate, Dan Feehan, and his son Conor are breaking it down.

They did this by hosting a virtual ‘Kids Town Hall’.

Some of southern Minnesota’s youngest constituents submitted their questions and tuned in for the answers.

Kids asked things like, “why do I have to wear a mask?” and “why is handwashing important?”

But they also had questions about how to cope, like what to do when they feel scared or alone.

“What you’ve gone through the last couple of months, your parents have never gone through that before. And that’s a rare thing to have happen in life, to go through something together. But the only way for you to go through it together is to talk about how you are doing,” Feehan said.

They also talked about fun activities do to and ways to show others you care.

Feehan says he hopes this will make uncertain times a little clearer, for kids and their parents.
