Milder Temps Today… But Windy (Blowing Snow?)
Chance Of Snow This Weekend
Wednesday’s Forecast High: 34F / Tonight’s Forecast Low: 27F…
A clipper system brought a quick round of dry, fluffy snow to the region on Tuesday. Snow totals ranged from just over a trace (far north) to around 2″ in some spots. The La Crosse area saw 1″ to 2″, including 1.1″ at the airport.
Today we will see a mix of sun and clouds. It will be cold this morning, but then S to SW winds will increase and help warm high temps today into the low-mid 30s. It will feel colder though, thanks to those S to SW winds 10-20 mph, with gusts to 35 mph. Those winds could also cause some blowing snow in open areas and across higher terrain, so watch out for slippery spots on roads.
Becoming mostly clear tonight. Not as cold with lows in the 20s, but blustery west winds 10-20 mph will make it feel colder. Partly to mostly cloudy Thursday. Still breezy with a slight chance of flurries late as a cold front drops south across the region. Highs Thursday will be in the low-mid 30s once again.
Turning colder again Thursday night into Friday. Lows Thursday night will be in the single digits, then highs Friday will only be in the mid-upper teens under partly cloudy skies.
Looking Ahead… We are tracking a storm system that could bring some snow to our area later Saturday into Saturday night. The snow could linger into Sunday as well. It’s too early to say how much snow we might see, but accumulating snow does look like a good bet. Highs Saturday will be around 20F, then upper 20s on Sunday.
Mostly cloudy, but dry next Monday and Tuesday with highs in the low-mid 20s. Slight chance of light snow or flurries Wednesday, then mostly cloudy Thursday. High temps will be seasonable in the mid-upper 20s.
Have a good Wednesday, but be ready to deal with some windy conditions through the day. -Bill Graul
