Mild & Muggy Tonight, Slight Chance Of Storms Late -Bill Graul

Hot & Humid Weekend In Store

Tonight’s Forecast Low: 75F / Saturday’s Forecast High: 93F…

Today the high at the La Crosse airport was 94F… marking the 20th day this year reaching 90F or hotter. We average about 17 days per year reaching 90F or hotter in La Crosse, so we’ve already beat that… and still have a lot of summer left!

Tonight will be mild and muggy with lows ranging from the upper 60s to mid 70s. A cool front to the northwest could spark some scattered showers and t-storms late tonight into Saturday morning in our area. The timing looks to be after about 2 a.m. and storms could linger through about 9 or 10 a.m. Saturday… before dying out or shifting to our southeast.

Friday Night Forecast

Wkbt Master

There’s an outside chance for an isolated strong to severe storm over about the northern third of the viewing area. The main threats with any stronger storms would be gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall. Of course, lightning is always a threat with thunderstorms.

Hot & Humid This Weekend

Looking Ahead… This latest heatwave looks to continue through the middle of next week, with highs in the low-mid 90s for many. High humidity could cause heat indices in the upper 90s to near 100F at times. Just small chances for isolated showers and t-storms each day… Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – but the chances are only at about 20%.

8 Day Build 3

Not quite as hot later in the week, with highs mainly in the mid-upper 80s Thursday through Saturday. Thursday and Friday look dry at this point, with just isolated t-showers possible next Saturday.
