Midwest show choirs compete in Onalaska

Event helps students make strong bonds

Students from around the Midwest are in Onalaska this weekend, singing their hearts out.

The 29th annual Onalaska Show Choir Classic and Concert Choir Classic brought teams from 20 different schools in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois to our area, and while it may be a competition, this event helps students develop a strong bond.

“Even though we are competitive it is a very strong community. We support each other and I know my students love that aspect about it a lot. They love hosting the rooms and getting to know the students from other schools, and they feel the camaraderie cause we all do the same thing,” said Onalaska High School Director of Choral Activities Richard Moses.

The top 6 teams in each of the competitions were awarded a trophy.
