Menomonie native Stokke keeping fullback tradition alive for Badgers

The Wisconsin Badger football offense has been rolling thus far, and even the fullback position is getting in on the action.

Menomonie native Mason Stokke started his career as a linebacker but has since found his calling at fullback. He makes his chances count, especially in passing plays: two catches, two red zone touchdowns.

His position is one that seems to have fallen out of favor in most major college programs, but Stokke is keeping the position relevant in his home state.

“I think Mason has been doing great,” QB Graham Mertz said. “He’s really accepted [his role] and really understanding protections, understanding the whole offense.”

“Gritty football player,” left tackle Cole Van Lanen added. “Love to have him on my side of the ball, love to have him our team and offense.”
