Nick Adams is a producer for our morning shows here at News 8. He grew up in Genoa City, and went to UW La Crosse where he majored in Communication Studies with a Broadcasting and Digital Media emphasis and Sports Broadcasting and Mathematics minors. He started on floor crew, and after a year began learning more in other departments, eventually settling in as a producer. As much as he likes producing, Nick says his dream job would be doing sports commentary, ideally for hockey or soccer.
Favorite band? I like any music that isn’t country, so it’s tough to pick just one band. If I have to choose one, I would have to say the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Favorite movie? Any movie with Bill Murray (Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Stripes). Or anything nerdy, like Marvel movies and the Lord of the Rings.
If you could interview one person, living or deceased, who would that be? My grandfathers (both of them). They both lived pretty interesting lives, but I wasn’t old enough to appreciate what I could learn from them until it was too late. One passed while I was in middle school, the other had Alzheimer’s and couldn’t communicate very well in recent years, so I never really listened to the stories they had, and I really wish I knew more about their lives.
Favorite way to spend a day off? Sleeping, playing video games, and eating Culver’s. If you ever need to know the flavor of the day, just ask. I always check just so I don’t miss out on the best flavors.
What sports team are you a big fan of? I’m a big San Jose Sharks fan. Probably because I always chose them in video games when I was a kid because they had the best jerseys of any team. I appreciate the game a bit more than the jerseys at this point, but the colors got me at a young age.
