Mayo to reactivate optometry service at Caledonia clinic
CALEDONIA, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health System will reactivate optometry at its Caledonia clinic beginning July 6 and expand clinical services by part of a day.
Optometry services had been paused temporarily because the COVID-19 pandemic in March but had reopened May 18.
Clinic hours now will be 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 8 a.m. until noon Fridays.
“We continue seeing our patients in person in the Caledonia clinic with numerous safety measures in place; including robust patient screening, universal masking, enhanced cleaning of patient care, staff and waiting spaces,” said clinic manager Joannie Schmidt.
Mayo reminds patients showing any sign of possible COVID-19 symptoms, such as fever, cough and shortness of breath, to call before going to a health-care facility. Patients who qualify will be directed to a testing site in La Crosse.
