Mayo to offer COVID-19 vaccinations in Arcadia and Sparta

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Mayo Clinic Health System will offer COVID-19 vaccines to patients in Arcadia and Sparta beginning next week, the health system announced Friday.

Patients 65 and older who are notified that they are eligible can be vaccinated Tuesday in Arcadia and Thursday and Sparta. Beginning the following week, vaccinations will be offered at both locations on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Mayo Clinic Health System will continue using the current process of contacting patients living in those areas either via their Patient Online Services account or via mail when they are eligible to schedule an appointment to be vaccinated for COVID-19. Mayo continues to vaccinate patients per state eligibility guidelines and as the supply of COVID-19 vaccines allows.

Mayo Clinic Health System is encouraging those interested in being vaccinated for COVID-19 to:
·        Establish a Patient Online Services account. Patient Online Services is Mayo Clinic Health System’s patient portal. Patients with a Patient Online Services account will receive a message in Patient Online Services when they are eligible to schedule their appointment to be vaccinated for COVID-19.
·        Patients without a Patient Online Services account will receive a letter in the mail inviting them to schedule their appointment.
·        Those who are not Mayo Clinic Health System patients can find instructions on how to obtain a Mayo Clinic medical record number on Mayo Clinic Health System’s COVID-19 vaccine information page or find out more information on the Mayo Clinic Health System vaccination page.

Due to the vaccination program, Mayo will no longer offer COVID-19 drive-up testing in Sparta on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Instead it will only be offered from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
