Mayo mulls rescheduling appointments, surgeries
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Mayo Clinic Health System officials will contact patients whose appointments or procedures were delayed because of COVID-19 restrictions for possible rescheduling, according to a news release.
The officials are reviewing appointments and surgical cases to decide priorities on a case-by-case basis.
Meanwhile, Mayo is continuing its policy banning visitors from all of its hospitals and clinics in Southwest Wisconsin.
Compassionate exceptions include:
• Hospitals will be on a case-by-case basis, including births and end-of-life care, among other specific circumstances.
• Clinics will allow a parent to bring a child to an appointment and a companion will be allowed in instances where an adult may have special needs and requires assistance.
All visitors granted exceptions will be screened before entry; those who screen positive for respiratory illness will be prohibited from visiting. No visitors under 18 will be allowed. The visitor restrictions will remain until further notice.
