Marquette Poll: 40% of adults say abortion is one of the most important issues to them

MILLWAUKEE (WKBT) – A new poll released from Marquette Law School found that a significant chunk of Americans view abortion as one of the most important issues.

40% of adults nationwide say abortion is one of the most important issues to them, while 39% say it is somewhat important, and 21% say it is not very or not at all important, according to the poll released Thursday. Democrats rank the issue as more important (48%) than do independents(38%) or Republicans (31%). A quarter of Republicans and independents say abortion is not very or not at all important to them, while 14% of Democrats say this.

This follows more results released Wednesday that show approval of the US Supreme Court dropped in the wake of the court’s leaked draft opinion concerning the future of Roe vs. Wade.
