Man suffers minor injuries after hitting deer on motorcycle Sunday
VERNON COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) — One man suffered minor injuries after hitting a deer on his motorcycle Sunday morning.
Vernon County Sheriff John Spears said the accident happened at 9 a.m. on State Highway 33 and 80, about 4 miles north of Hillsboro.
Authorities said 85-year-old Eugene Allen, of San Juan, TX, hit a deer while driving on the road. Allen lost control of the motorcycle, crossed the center line and hit a bridge. Spears said Allen was able to keep the motorcycle upright, but was thrown off the motorcycle when it crossed back over the center line and into the ditch.
Allen suffered minor injuries and was taken to Gundersen Health System.
Spears said Allen was wearing a helmet, glove and appropriate riding gear.
The accident is under investigation.
