Man stabbed at Sparta area gentleman’s club, one suspect taken into custody
SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT)– A Tennessee man is in custody after allegedly stabbing someone at a rural Sparta gentleman’s club. The incident happened Friday just before midnight at Baron’s Gentleman’s Club.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said someone called 911 to report a fight and a man with a knife. The caller later reported that one person was stabbed and the suspect fled into the woods.
First responders found a 30-year-old La Crescent, Minnesota man with a stab wound to his lower chest. He was transported to a nearby hospital by Sparta Area Ambulance Service.
A perimeter was set up around the last known location of the suspect. A Monroe County Sheriff’s Office K-9 officer gave commands to the suspect hiding in the woods. After hearing the commands, the alleged suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
35-year-old Samuel R. Walker from Whitesburg, Tennessee, is being held on multiple charges. That includes: Aggravated Battery- Intending Great Bodily Harm, two counts of Battery, three counts of Disorderly Conduct and Endangering Safety with a Dangerous Weapon.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Wisconsin State Patrol, La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Sparta Police Department, Sparta Area Ambulance Service, and Cataract first responders.
