Man injured in stabbing at Winona bar
Suspect arrested, faces charges
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — A 25-year-old man from Minneapolis is in serious but stable condition after being stabbed at a Winona bar early Sunday morning.
Winona police responded to a report of a possible stabbing at MC’s Bar, 102 Johnson Street, at about 12:50 a.m. on Sunday. Police found a 25-year-old who had a stab wound to his back while in the bathroom.
The man was transported to Community Memorial Hospital and later transferred via helicopter to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.
Winona police arrested Andre Westly Carter, 29, of Winona. He was referred to the Winona County Attorney’s Office for charges, including 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police said the weapon has not been recovered and the investigation is ongoing.
