Man injured in pedestrian vs semi crash in Onalaska
Incident happened near Hwy. 35 and Troy Street
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — A male bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a semi truck in Onalaska, according to Tri-State Ambulance.
The incident happened at about 12:30 p.m. near Highway 35 and Troy Street in Onalaska.
All lanes were closed for about two hours on Highway 35 between Schnick Road and Quincy Street in Onalaska due to this incident, according to WisDOT.
“The big message here is there are lots of bicyclists, pedestrians cross here to get to the bike path, waterway. Traffic is going at least 50 miles per hour. You do not have much time to cross,” said Onalaska Police Chief Jeff Trotnic.
Chief Trotnic said no citations are expected for the driver. The bicyclist may be cited.
