Man in 50s is Monroe County’s first COVID-19 case
SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – The Monroe County Health Department has received notification of its first case of COVID-19 confirmed with a lab test.
The man, who is in his 50s, told a county health nurse that he has had no known exposure during travel or contact with a confirmed case. He is isolating at home.
The health department is identifying contacts the man may have had and will follow up with anyone who may have been exposed to provide appropriate guidance.
Monroe County Health Director Sharon Nelson said, “There is no need for the public to panic. We have been preparing for a case of COVID-19 in Monroe County.”
