Man gets probation for La Crosse body dumping case

LA CROSSE, Wis. — A La Crosse man is sentenced to probation for helping several others hide the body of a man who had died from a drug overdose.

Patrick Valiquette had faced a maximum of five years in prison for party to the crime of hiding a corpse.

Valiquette, Cain Moss and Robert Moss were charged with dumping 40-year-old Anthony Ducharme’s body in August 2011 in Red Cloud Park.

Cain Moss and Christina Lorenz also face reckless homicide charges for giving Ducharme a Fentanyl patch, a narcotic painkiller. They found Ducharme dead a short time later.

Valiquette must serve 100 hours of community service for each of his five years probation and avoid drugs and alcohol.

Lorenz pleaded guilty to her role in the crime. She is scheduled for sentencing in July. Cain Moss is scheduled for a hearing May 15.

Robert Moss was sentenced in March to a year in prison after pleading no contest to hiding a corpse.
