Man dies in Monroe County garage fire
A Town of Oakdale man died in a garage fire Monday morning.
Emergency services responded to a fire call on Honeysuckle Avenue on January 13 at 11:41 a.m. The caller reported that her husband may have been in the shed when the fire broke out. Crews found a shed fully engulfed with heavy smoke when they arrived.
Richard Siess, 49, was found deceased inside the structure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Arson Bureau.
Assisting at the scene were the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Oakdale Fire Department, Oakdale First Responders, Tomah Ambulance, Fort McCoy Fire Department, Wisconsin DNR, DCI, Monroe County Medical Examiner, and Wisconsin State Patrol.
