Man charged with attempted sexual assault of child after responding to online ad
The arrest was made in conjunction with human trafficking sting
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — An Onalaska man that was arrested as a part of the human trafficking sting that occurred last week appeared in court Friday.
Jon Mulder is being charged with use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and attempted sexual assault of a child under 16 years of age.
The 43 year old man responded to an online ad posted by police for sex with a 14-year-old girl.
According to the complaint after being made aware he was communicating with a 14 year-old female during the conversation Mulder said “Your age could get me 20 years in prison” and also said he would bring condoms.
They set to meet at Quillins on French Island where he was then arrested by La Crosse police.
