Man accused of using Porsche to break car out of impound makes court appearance

A Lanesboro man accused of breaking into an Onalaska impound lot and crashing a porsche through a fence was in court Thursday.

Benjamin Gjereis facing charges of taking and driving a vehicle without consent, along with theft and criminal damage to property.

Not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf, and he was bound over for trial.

According to the criminal complaint, Gjere and another man used a Porsche to crash through a fence at the impound lot to create an exit for Gjere’s car that was towed there the week prior.
