Man accused of hitting an officer with his car appears in court
Ritter held on $25,000 cash bond
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse man accused of running over a police officer during a drug arrest appears in court Wednesday.
Brandon Ritter, 24, faces six charges including battery against an officer and delivery of meth.
La Crosse Police Department Investigator James Mancuso tried to arrest Ritter as part of an ongoing drug investigation. Ritter hit Mancuso with his car as he tried to drive away from the scene. Mancuso then shot at Ritter as he drove away until Ritter hit a snowbank and was then arrested.
Both were treated for minor injuries.
Ritter is held on a $25,000 cash bond.
