Luther H.S. holds fundraiser for 8 year old boy fighting cancer

An area high school is rallying behind an 8 year old fighting cancer and his family.

Obi Christiansen was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in June. He’s been undergoing treatment ever since.

On December 23rd, he’ll be going out to New York for a special treatment.

Luther High School, where Obi’s two older brothers attend school, wants to help the family in anyway they can. “What we would like to do is be able to fly the entire family out to New York so they can all celebrate Christmas together as a family,” said Luther H.S. Spanish teacher Becky Lusskey.

Obi was at the Luther boy’s basketball game Friday night.

At half time, he was given a game ball signed by both the girls and boys varsity team. They’ll also did a miracle minute trying to raise more money for the family.
