Luminaria at La Crosse’s Veterans Freedom Park held to remember Louie Ferris
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Monday night, the friends and family of Louie Ferris remembered his service and the impact he’s had on the area’s veteran community.
They lit paper lanterns at Veterans Freedom Park, a place where Ferris helped build multiple memorials for veterans.
Ferris was a Korean War veteran.
He died in December of 2021.
Monday night’s luminaria showcased the monuments in Veterans Freedom Park, including those for the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps, WWI, WWII, and Korean War veterans, as well as the Hmong Lao veterans who helped the U.S. in Vietnam.
