Long term flood disaster assistance available for region
WESTBY, Wis. (WKBT) — Some members of our community are still recovering from floods of 2018.
CouleeCap, along with partnering with community organizations to help people with unmet needs from the floods.
As part of the effort, emotional support is being offered for people impacted by flooding.
While the clean-up efforts from last year’s flooding are fresh in many people’s mind, the problem may go back further for some in our community.
“Our focus is still on 2018 damage and making people whole on that damage as much as possible, but there is this thing of many of the people that were flooded in 2018 were repeat flooders,” said Jen Schmitz, Long Term Recovery Group of Wisconsin Region One chair.
