Loggers use late offense for win vs. Woodchucks

The Loggers scored four runs in the final two innings to beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 6-3 in Friday’s Northwoods League contest.

With the game tied 2-2 in the eighth, the Loggers pushed across two runs on a fielder’s choice and a Kobe Kato RBI double.

The Woodchucks answered with a run in the eighth, but the Loggers secured two more insurance runs in the ninth.

Loggers starting pitcher Marius Balandis went four innings, allowing two runs and striking out seven. Jared Freilich recorded the win with three innings of work, one earned run and three strikeouts.
