Logan Middle School students make pumpkin pies for La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Tradition dates back more than 25 years

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – While you might not have started cooking for Thanksgiving, students at Logan Middle School in La Crosse have been busy working on a feast.

On Tuesday, eighth-graders made pumpkin pies that will be served during the La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

It’s a tradition dating back more than 25 years.

Students are happy to help other community member celebrate Thanksgiving with a good meal.

“If they don’t have, like, money to buy Thanksgiving stuff, then they can go to the community thing and they have stuff,” said Logan eighth-grader Adrian Bye.

Students throughout the La Crosse School District helped make the total of about 100 pies.

The La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner takes place at the La Crosse Center.

The deadline for meal delivery requests from La Crosse or Onalaska Holmen Community Thanksgiving dinners has passed.

You still can go to the La Crosse Center or the National Guard Armory in Onalaska to get carry-out of the free meals.
