Logan grad Marissa Kleman to transfer from UW-Milwaukee to Viterbo Volleyball
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)–There’s a ton of excitement surrounding the Viterbo Volleyball team, who has the right pieces to make a deep run in the national tournament. While the team’s focus is on that tournament, there’s some great news coming the V-Hawks’ way for next season.
La Crosse Logan legend Marissa Kleman will be transferring from UW-Milwaukee to Viterbo starting next season.
Kleman saw some action in Milwaukee in her freshman year before entering the transfer portal.
She didn’t spend a lot of time mulling over where she would go, as in about a week’s time she made the call to come back home and be a V-Hawk
Ultimately, the move was to be closer to her family on and off the court.
“I have been running around Viterbo since I was probably 8 years-old, my sister played club volleyball here through the program so I was helping with concessions,” recalled Kleman.
“I wanted to play club here since I was 8-years-old. this feels like home to me, I have built those relationships with the coaches here for so long and I’m excited to be back and actually be a part of the team now.”
“We’ve looked at her as one of our own so even through she did come through the transfer portal and all that,” said coach Ryan Delong. “She grew up in our back yard, she’s right here from La Crosse so even though she’s transferring it’s like she never left.
