Local singers and musicians prepare for an upcoming performance
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Local singers and musicians are preparing for an upcoming performance.
Handel’s Messiah is being put on Monday evening at 7:30 in the Viterbo Fine Arts Center.
The University’s Choral Union and Concert Choir will be in it.
They will be alongside a professional orchestra and soloists.
It’s a special opportunity to work with people who have made music their career, and a fun way to get into the holiday spirit.
“It’s a wonderful piece that’s incredibly well-known, and it’s a wonderful piece that really ushers in the holiday season,” said Dr. Christopher Hathaway, Director of UWL Choral Studies.
This is the first year Messiah has been put on by UWL.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $5 for students.
They will available at the door.
CORRECTION: The story originally stated the concert would be held on the UW-La Crosse campus.
