Local seniors prove that it only takes a tune to bring us closer together
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) – Residents at the Burns Valley Apartments in Winona have been practicing social distancing.
But it hasn’t been easy being away from one another.
So they’ve come up with a new way to spend time together.
On Saturday they sang to some of their favorite tunes, right from their balconies.
It’s a chance for them to connect, create special memories, and make sure everyone is okay during these hard times.
“We like to let everybody know that hey, we are here, we’re going to fight it, we’re all going to be okay. Everybody do what they’re supposed to do, and we’re going to be fine,” said Esther Young, a resident at Burns Valley Apartments.
They sang patriotic songs and waved American flags, a reminder that our country is stronger together.
