Local scout gives back to organization that once helped him
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- A local Scout is giving back to an organization that once helped him.
Colin Santiago was a recipient of a quilt from the Linus Project when he was a child.
For his Eagle Scout project, he wanted to give back to that same organization.
Santiago and a few of his scout mates decided to make their own quilts to donate to the Linus Project.
He says when the Linus Project gave him a blanket it was always something he would remember, and he wants other kids to feel the same way.
“I’ve had the blanket since I was little and it provided me with so much comfort and I wanted to help provide that comfort to other kids,” said Scout, Colin Santiago.
The Linus Project’s mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets.
