Local library is giving back to the people they serve
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — A local library is evolving to meet the needs of the people they serve.
Winona Public Library is now providing a Community Cabinet.
It’s filled with hats, mittens, food items, and hygienic products.
It’s free to the public, anyone can stop by and take what they need.
In addition to the Cabinet, there is a mental health kiosk.
It has variety of information to help people find services they need.
Youth Services librarian, Tricia Wehrenberg, says this is a small way to brighten someone’s day.
“I just hope that it makes someone’s life easier in some way. To bring a small comfort to their day, to help them get through anything they might be going through, and to just make it easier to find resources that they might need.”
The Community Cabinet is in its trial stage.
They hope to continue offering these services, with the help of the community.
