Local hospital receives large coloring book, crayon donation
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare received a donation of hundreds of coloring books and crayons packaged for children patients or visitors.
Each year Todd and Jennifer Wiedenhaft raise money to supply the local hospitals with coloring books and crayon packets in honor of Riah’s Rainbow.
“We hope it will bring some comfort to children during their hospital stay,” said Todd.
The packets will be given to departments including Pediatrics, Family Medicine and the Emergency and Urgent Care Centers.
“Coming to the hospital or clinic can be scary for children, whether they are a patient themselves or coming with a family member who is a patient. We greatly appreciate having these coloring books and crayons as a way for children to keep busy and take their mind off unpleasant things,” said Joy Erb-Moser, registered nurse and clinical educator with the Emergency and Urgent Care Center.
