Local fire department gives Santa a tour of French Island
TOWN OF CAMPBELL, Wis. (WKBT) — Santa’s reindeer are got a day off.
Santa hitched a ride with the Town of Campbell Fire Department on Sunday.
With his sleigh in tow, fire-fighting elves gave him a tour of the Island.
They stopped by city parks so kids could meet him.
And he didn’t show up empty-handed.
Santa handed out goodie bags and fire safety information.
One of his elves says times have changed, but this will always be something special.
“It’s something that is not digital. In our new age of technology, the kids still have to be able to come out, and have a little bit of fun, and shake some hands, and give some hugs, and get something real in their hands,” said Jeff Nylander, the Public Fire Education Coordinator of Campbell Fire Dept.
Santa even visited a few homes and the senior center for people who couldn’t get to the parks.
This is the 11th year Santa and his fire-fighting elves came to the Town of Campbell.
