Local farmers market sees increase in customers supporting small businesses
LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) – The La Crescent Farmers Market is giving community members a chance to support small businesses.
On Tuesday evening a variety of vendors set up their booths, further apart than years past as a safety measure.
Shoppers could find fresh produce, baked good, meats, crafts, and more.
While people walked through the market they also enjoyed live music and read-aloud sessions with the library.
Organizers say as far as business goes, the pandemic has played in their favor.
“I’ve noticed an uptick in people looking for local goods. Being that we’re an outdoor market people feel a little safer being out and about versus the supermarket,” said Ben Horn, Happy Horns Farm/Free Range Exchange.
The market is every Tuesday from 4 pm to 7 pm and runs until October 13th.
It’s located in the parking lot adjacent to Veteran’s Park and the La Crescent Event Center.
