Local family paying it forward to other sick children through kindness project
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A La Crosse area family is helping pay it forward after losing one of their own.
Fiona King passed away six years ago today, from a rare genetic disease called GM-1.
She was just four years old.
Rather than grieving, her family is spreading happiness and joy through a program called Fiona’s Kindness Project.
The project involves sending boxes with all kinds of children’s items to kids in the community who have a rare disease with no cure.
“It means a whole lot to be able to keep her name alive and keep her memory alive, and also help the families with children that are in the hospital and struggling through difficult times,” Fiona’s father, Paxton, said.
If you are interested in putting together a box towards the project, you can message the Fiona’s Kindness Project Facebook page.
