Local Coloring Contest Winner Gets a Visit from a Bearcat
The Sheriffs office teamed up with Canadian Pacific Railway Police Services to sponsor a coloring challenge
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) — A young girl from our area got a visit today from the La Crosse County Sheriffs Department, but she wasn’t in trouble.
In fact, quite the opposite.
The Sheriffs office teamed up with Canadian Pacific Railway Police Services to sponsor a coloring challenge.
And today they surprised another winner, 4-year-old Nora Anderson, arriving with the sheriff’s department’s Bearcat vehicle.
Kids were given a picture to download and color, and their parents uploaded the pictures on the sheriffs office’s Facebook page, with the winner receiving the most likes.
The contest was created to engage children in railroad safety.
Officer Jacob Jones, a Special Agent with the Canadian Pacific ,”We partner with operation lifesaver, and really what the message is, is to prevent tragedies on or around train tracks or around train equipment.”
Along with the visit from the officers, Nora also received a limited edition L-C-S-O Challenge Coin.
