Local coalition meets at Viterbo to decide future
Changing the Culture of Risky Drinking Behavior Coalition halfway through 5 year grant
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A group working to change La Crosse’s drinking culture is looking towards the future.
The Changing the Culture of Risky Drinking Behavior Coalition is half way through their five year grant from the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program.
On Thursday they met at Viterbo to figure out what’s next for the group. They say changing the drinking culture takes time but strides have been made, especially at local festivals.
“They’ve really been doing things reducing the amount of price discounting they’ve been doing making sure everyone is checking ids making sure that they’re controlling the amount of serving that people get when they go and buy,” said La Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium Director Catherine Kolkmeier.
The coalition’s grant runs out in June of 2017.
