Local business recognized for its dedication to the environment

7 Rivers Recycling was given a $10,000 award by Force for Positive Change, which will be used to help the community.

The Onalaska business has been recycling mattresses since 2014 and expects to recycle 16,000 by the end of this year.

Not only does this help the environment by reducing the impact on landfills, but it also provides jobs.

The company says it hopes to work with area parts to develop products from some of the mattress parts that are going to the trash.

For example, if you stop by Rotary Lights, you’ll notice felt-like blankets in some areas made by 7 Rivers Recycling.
