Local boy scouts ‘Scout for Food’ for those in need

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – On Saturday local Boy Scouts were on a mission ‘Scouting for Food’, but it wasn’t to cook over a campfire.

It’s a council-wide event that collects food donations from the community, which are then given to the Summit Food Pantry.

It’s teaching the Scouts the importance of giving back to those who are less fortunate.

And one organizer says residents also love getting involved.

“We’ve had people chase us down to give us bags as they see the Scouts picking up bags of food. The French Island community has been really good about giving us food,” said Scout Master Toby Adams.

The Boy Scouts take part in this event annually.
