Live fire training help soldiers prepare at Fort McCoy

Training providing day, night time skills

FORT MCCOY, Wis. (WKBT) – Training is still underway at Fort McCoy.

Soldiers from the 103rd Sustainment Command from Iowa took part in some live fire exercises Tuesday.

The training is helping soldiers practice their skills during day and night times.

The skill will help soldiers to be safe, without having to wait for assistance from other soldiers.

“This is enabling them to provide their own security for their convoys. So in qualifying that single truck you now have a convoy protection platform,” said 103rd expeditionary Gunnery NCIOC master sergeant Josephy Arne.

Training was originally scheduled to take place in May but was pushed back because of the pandemic.
