Lions clubs host “Stuff The Bus” event
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) — Residents of West Salem stuffed the bus for a good cause Saturday.
The West Salem and Barre co-ed Lions clubs teamed up to host the “Stuff the Bus” event for the fourth year.
The event helps give students the supplies they need to start school off on the right foot.
Donations included things like pencils, pens, notebooks, crayons, calculators, ear buds, tennis shoes, and even deodorant.
Rita Thompson, vice president of the West Salem Lions Club, said school supplies can be expensive and this is one way to help them out.
“It’s showing it’s a caring community with everybody stopping by with donations. They really care about the future of our students here in town,” Thompson said.
The supplies will be divided up between the different schools in West Salem and Barre Mills.
There was also a brat sale to help support the “Stuff the Bus” event.
