Lincoln Middle School in La Crosse holds annual Veterans Day assembly

Only eighth-graders attended, while other students took in the ceremony by a video stream

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Students at La Crosse’s Lincoln Middle School honored service members with their annual Veterans Day assembly.

Veterans from different conflicts shared their stories Thursday, a day for students to pause and recognize the sacrifices service members made.

“So many people have given up time, their time with their families. Time in civilian life to make sure that we have the security and the freedoms that we appreciate,” said eighth-grade teacher.

To allow for social distancing, only eighth-graders attended, while other students took in the ceremony by a video stream.
