Leaf collection around La Crosse starts Monday
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)– If you’ve been out raking the yard and don’t want to bring them to the waste site, you’re in luck. City-wide leaf collection begins in La Crosse on Monday.
You should place leaves on the boulevard by 7 a.m. to ensure they are picked up when trucks are in the area. Leaf pickup does not coincide with your refuse/recycling collection day.
Be sure to combine piles and do not place them behind parked cars or around trees and signposts. Workers will not collect leaves that are bagged, covered up, or have brush/materials mixed in.
An online map will be available when collection starts and will show you what areas they’re working in. You can find that on the city’s website.
The free service will run until Nov. 20.
Leaf Disposal Locations: These sites are only available during leaf season and will open for residents use by October 16, 2020. All bags (paper & plastic) and containers must be emptied out and taken with you, do not leave them at the drop-off site. Locations other than Isle La Plume, will be marked out in an orange snow fence.
