La Crosse’s Rotary Lights display nearly ready to turn on for the season

La Crosse’s Riverside Park will feel the holiday spirit shortly after your Thanksgiving celebrations.

The 24th annual Rotary Lights display will light up Riverside Park this Friday. Along with more than 4-million lights, the winter wonderland includes a nativity scene, carriage and hay rides, an ice skating rink and an ugly sweater 5K!

Santa Claus will switch on the lights after the Rotary Lights Parade, which marches down Main Street this Friday night at 5:00 p.m.

“We’re without the band shell for our opening ceremonies, so we’re actually going to do it in the street. There is no seating there so I would remind people if they want to come down to bring a chair if you need to sit for that period of time,” said Rotary Lights President Pat Stephens.

Rotary Lights is free to visit, but organizers do ask for food and cash donations to help local food pantries.

The displays will be up through New Year’s Eve.
