La Crosse’s Poage Park opens its ice rink for the winter season

Kids of all ages can now try their hand, or rather their feet, at ice skating in another La Crosse park.

The Poage Park outdoor ice skating rink is open for the winter season. The La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry department is providing free skate rentals to anyone hoping to enjoy the rink.

“Dress warm, coat hats, gloves, warm socks. I always really like warm socks. Make sure your feet don’t get cold. Just bring a friend so that you can skate around and get warmed up while you’re here,” said La Crosse Recreation Coordinator McKenzie Wilson.

You can also buy hot chocolate and popcorn to warm up.

The Poage Park rink will be open every day of the week as long as the weather cooperates.
